Welcome to The Silkie Farm, your local family-run chicken farm and hatchery since 2000. Here at The Silkie Farm, we pride ourselves in being an all-organic and NON-GMO FED hatchery and NPIP breeder. Our infamous flock of show silkies are not only our pets but a part of our family. They roam our farm freely, and their friendly and docile nature makes them excellent pets for families with children or those new to keeping chickens. We adhere strictly to American Poultry Association standards for all our breeds to ensure the true nature of the breed without the possibility of cross-breeding. Our commitment to an all-organic, non-GMO feed we cultivate grows from the natural soil of our farm-produced grains ensures that our chickens get only the best nutrition available. Our Layer Breeds consist of Silkies, Polish, and, Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben Chickens, and are all considered *Rare Breeds*. Our Ornamental Breeds are considered to be Polish and Appenzeller Spitzhauben. All of our chickens are happy, healthy, and thriving in their own breed-specific coop-quarters that are all housed on their very own large sections of the farm neighboring their feathered friends and their farm-quarters and breed-specific coops. All chickens are allowed to free-range and roam their own area of farmland designed specifically for them to be able to thrive and flourish while still being able to see, hear, and play, with the other chicken breeds that are closely bordered with their own privately built farmland and coop quarters.
