Once you receive your eggs… CAREFULLY unwrap, and set them in the egg carton ROUND SIDE UP AND NARROW END DOWN for AT LEAST 12 HOURS to allow the air sac to rise to the top again after traveling…
When introducing eggs to a broody hen:
•Ensure the hen is consistently broody and has been sitting for at least 2–3 days.
•Place eggs under the hen all at once, ideally in the evening, to encourage acceptance.
•Minimize disturbances during the first several days to allow proper incubation to begin.
•Avoid mixing newly shipped eggs with eggs that are already in progress under the hen, as this can affect hatch timing and success rates.
If You Are Placing Eggs Under a Broody Hen
If you are purchasing fertilized eggs for use with a broody hen, the same post-delivery resting period is essential. After receiving your eggs, allow them to sit undisturbed for 12–24 hours (narrow end down) before placing them under your hen. This step is critical to allow the air sac to stabilize after shipping.
Important Handling & Viability Guidelines
Fertilized eggs are most viable within 10 days of lay. While hatching beyond this window is possible, hatch rates may decline. Every effort is made to ensure your eggs arrive within this optimal timeframe, provided the recommended 12–24 hour resting period is followed immediately upon receipt. Skipping or shortening this rest period can significantly impact hatch success.

•Shipping: All orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail (2–3 day delivery). Upon arrival, eggs must be carefully unpacked and allowed to rest for 12–24 hours, positioned narrow end down, to allow the air sac to properly resettle after transit.
